Tension between Everest Poker and WSOP

May 4, 2010 by Casino Jackpot Leave a Comment

Since the beginning of April the matter between Harrah’s, owner of the famous tournament World Series of Poker (WSOP), and its main sponsor Everest Poker is about her. The situation is delicate because the group Everest Poker has filed a complaint against Harrah’s for “breach of contract,” which has been in place since 2008.

Indeed, the official sponsor of the WSOP is Everest Poker. But recently, during broadcasts of famous poker tournament RLT9, we see mostly ads for Full Tilt Poker, which is the great rival Everest Poker. For this reason they are determined to break the contract finally established with the World Series of Poker. A complicated decision but will not be questioned.

If we consider just the case, the manager of the WSOP is the background of this action since it RLT9 who decided to show the signs leading to Full Tilt Poker. Everest Poker is pointing Harrah’s by explaining that a heavy loss of profits was created from the broadcast advertising of its competitor. Note that the World Series of Poker, which is thousands of hours of broadcasts in 170 countries!

Compared to RTL9 no clear explanation has not been mentioned yet, it still continued to broadcast mainly large advertisements for Full Tilt Poker without a concrete appearance of Everest Poker.

When examining the figures, Everest Poker has given more than $ 8 million to be the main sponsor of the WSOP. The situation is therefore logical, Full Tilt Poker should not be much, or even more, they showed.

We collected information from the ESPN group, which is associated RTL9, which states that the Everest group does not yet have a license to appear on television. This statement is true, but Full Tilt Poker also has no license suitable for this kind of appearance.

For information on licensing for this type of situation will be issued by the ARJEL in early June 2010. Following the numerous players in the affair will last a long time and will not be resolved before the World Series of Poker which is held from May 28 to July 5, 2010.
